What You Can Achieve With Strong Engagement, Alignment & Execution

Since publishing The 4 Disciplines of Execution book last year, one of the very positive aspects we have noticed is the reception it has received at C-Level, both from organisations familiar with FranklinCovey's work in this area and those coming to it for the fist time.

One organisation who has been applying this thinking already is Marriott Hotels and their Chief Executive J.W.Marriott Jr commented
By utilising this process inside our organisation, our leaders and teams have been able to set and achieve extraordinary goals, which have had a significant impact on making 'Our Guests' Experience' truly remarkable. Any organisation can create the same kinds of breakthrough results if they apply the principles and processes taught in this book
We have also started to work with Marriott on quantifying the impact FranklinCovey's approach to Execution has had on their business and in 4 pilot hotels the results have been very significant
  • Property 1 - achieved highest results ever in Guest Satisfaction Scores (GSS), Employee Satisfaction Scores (ESS) and Sales Profitability
  • Property 2 - Highest GSS since the hotel opened and improved Elite Recognition Ranking by 178 places
  • Property 3 - ESS up 20 points and highest GSS in 20 years
  • Property 4 - Everything in Working Order measure up from 69 to 89 and GSS up >20%
Perhaps most tellingly, Marriott's experience of using The 4 Disciplines of Execution is that it provides team members right down to the front line with the sense that any of these changes are happening 'through them', rather than 'to them', as evidenced by this comment from Dave Grissen, President of Marriott Americas - "The thing I like most about the process so far is the engagement of the people".
